Step 1.

Make a base of the bird, place it on the table in a vertical position:

Carefully crease the fold, and leave folded.

Form a valley fold, bringing the top edge of this small flap along the lower hinge edge.

Fold the front flap accordion against the model, using the existing diagonal valley fold.

Step 10.

Form a valley fold by bringing the top edge of this triple flap to the lower hinge edge.

  • Locate on the front lower flap the point corresponding to the two small points described in the previous line.

Step 11.

Form a valley fold on the front lower flap, passing through the left point of the model, and the previously identified point.

Crease well and leave it folded.

Step 12.

Form a valley fold by bringing the top edge of this quadruple flap over the bottom hinge edge.

Crease well, and leave it folded.

Step 13.

Turn the model over from right to left.

Step 14.

Form an oblique valley fold by bringing the right edge of the front lower flap along the horizontal hinge crease.

Crease well, then unfold.

Step 15.

Form a valley fold by bringing the lower part of the right edge of the front flap over the oblique valley fold created in the previous step.

Crease well, and leave it folded.

  • The lower part of the front flap is now a small quadruple-thickness triangle, the tapered tip of which corresponds to the front right tip of the model.

Step 16.

Form a valley fold by bringing the top edge of this small flap along the lower hinge edge.

Crease well, and leave it folded.

Step 17.

Fold the front flap accordion against the model, using the existing oblique valley fold.

Step 18.

Form a valley fold by bringing the top edge of this triple flap onto the lower hinge edge.

Crease well, and leave it folded.

  • Between the front and back lower flaps, at the tail, there are two small stacked points pointing downwards.
  • Mark on the front lower flap the point corresponding to the two small points described in the previous line.

Step 19.

Form a valley fold on the bottom front flap, passing through the right tip of the fold, and the point previously marked.

Crease well, and leave it folded.

Step 20.

Form a valley fold by bringing the top edge of this quadruple flap along the bottom hinge edge.

Crease well, and leave it folded.

Step 21.

Reducing the neck:

Valley fold the right edge of the long right point over its left edge, then transform this valley fold into a mountain fold.

Step 22.

Turn the model over from right to left.

Step 23.

Valley fold the left edge of the long left point over its right edge, then transform this valley fold into a mountain fold.

  • the front and rear flaps of the right tip have been folded inside this tip, which blocks the tips of the accordion flaps that make up the wings.
  • The head is on the left, and the tail on the right.

Step 24.

Forming the beak

Valley-fold the upper part of the long left tip to the left, crease the fold, change this valley fold into a mountain fold, then unfold.

  • the tip’s end is again pointing upwards.

Step 25.

Slide a finger of the left hand inside the tip forming the neck, at the fold created in the previous step.

With a finger of the right hand, push the tip’s end to the left.

  • the mountain fold of the tip changes into a valley fold, forming the beak.

Step 26.

Hold the model in front of you, an accordion in each hand.

Fingers as close as possible to the tail.

Step 27.

Stretch the accordions, to unfold the wings.
